Day 1: Zanzibar – Fly to Mikumi National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park, offering spectacular views of Tanzania’s diverse terrain. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you’ll be met by your guide and taken straight into the park for your first wildlife experience.

After checking in at your lodge or tented camp and enjoying lunch, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive. Mikumi is famous for its lion sightings, as well as elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalos, and various bird species.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Wake up early for a full-day game drive, giving you the chance to explore the varied habitats of Mikumi—from open plains to acacia woodlands. The park is often referred to as a “mini-Serengeti” due to its similar landscapes and wildlife density.

Your guide will help you track and spot animals while sharing insights into their behaviors and the surrounding ecosystem. Break for a picnic lunch in a scenic spot within the park before continuing the afternoon drive.

Day 3: Sunrise Game Drive – Fly Back to Zanzibar

Begin your final day with an early morning game drive, the best time to spot predators in action and animals starting their day. After a short safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and check out.

You’ll be transferred to the Mikumi airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the afternoon—perfect to continue relaxing at the beach or prepare for your next adventure.
