DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arusha – Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Arusha, followed by a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area into the Ndutu region. As the plains open, the first herds of wildebeests and zebras come into view, signaling your arrival at the heart of the calving season. You will enjoy your first afternoon game drive, exploring areas rich in wildlife and predator activity. The vast plains provide excellent visibility, making this one of the best wildlife locations in Africa.

Overnight: Mid-range tented camp in Ndutu.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive – Wildebeest Calving Action in Ndutu

After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the Ndutu plains, where hundreds of thousands of wildebeests gather for calving. Calves are born in minutes, and within moments they are running alongside their mothers  a breathtaking scene unique to this time of year. The abundance of newborn calves attracts big predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and jackals. You’ll follow the action as it unfolds naturally, allowing you to witness dramatic interactions and capture exceptional photographs.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush before continuing your adventure across different wildlife-rich zones.

Overnight: Mid-range tented camp in Ndutu.

Day 3: Another Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu – Predator Territory

Today is dedicated to deeper exploration of the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu woodlands, focusing on areas with concentrated predator sightings. Your guide will track fresh movements of big cat activity, giving you the best chance to observe hunts, newborn calves, and herds spread across the short-grass plains.

The calving season offers unmatched visibility and wildlife density, making this one of the most rewarding safari days. Expect encounters with elephants, giraffes, migratory birds, and large hyena clans roaming near the herds.

Overnight: Mid-range tented camp in Ndutu.

Day 4: Ndutu – Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley)

After breakfast, begin your journey north toward the Central Serengeti, passing through scenic landscapes dotted with wildlife. The Seronera Valley is famous for its year-round water sources, attracting leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes, and hippos.

Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive exploring the rich acacia forests and open plains. This region provides a beautiful contrast to the Ndutu plains and offers excellent big cat sightings.

Overnight: Mid-range lodge or tented camp in Central Serengeti.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the Central Serengeti’s diverse wildlife zones. Begin with a sunrise game drive when predators are most active, followed by exploration of the Seronera River circuit, where leopards are commonly seen resting on branches.

You’ll enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, giving you ample time to witness elephants, giraffes, zebra herds, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Depending on the season’s movement, you may also encounter scattered herds of the migration.

Overnight: Mid-range lodge or tented camp in Central Serengeti.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro – Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive as you exit the park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, capturing last sightings of wildlife along the way.
