Day 1: Arusha – Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

Your journey begins early in the morning from Arusha, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Ndutu region. As you approach the vast plains, the landscape begins to shift into rich short-grass savannah, providing perfect grazing grounds for the migrating herds.

You’ll arrive in Ndutu in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Witness large herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and predators patrolling the plains in search of vulnerable newborns. The calving season offers unmatched wildlife density, making this an exhilarating introduction to the area.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive – Wildebeest Calving Season (Ndutu Plains)

After breakfast, spend a full day exploring the Ndutu plains, the epicenter of the Great Migration’s calving season. Each day, thousands of calves are born, creating scenes of new life mixed with intense predator activity.

Your expert safari guide will position you in prime locations to witness birth events, predator interactions, and massive herds stretching across the plains. Enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of acacia trees before continuing your exploration into different zones of the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu woodland.

Expect to encounter lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, giraffes, elephants, and a variety of bird species. The combination of immense herds and active predators makes this one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife experiences.

Day 3: Ndutu – Ngorongoro – Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a final short morning game drive as you exit Ndutu. Capture last sightings of herds, newborn calves, and other wildlife before driving back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

You may make an optional stop at a Maasai village for cultural experiences, learning about traditional Maasai life and customs. Continue your journey to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon, marking the end of your spectacular calving season safari.
